UCSF-King's Health Partners Faculty Fellowship Travel Grant (New)

Description

The UCSF King's Health Partners (KHP) Faculty Fellowship Travel Grant is designed to offer current UCSF faculty the opportunity to explore scholarly interaction, cooperative research and academic collaboration with faculty at KHP. The first year of the program is designed for clinical and translational research faculty to travel to KHP in London for a period of one to three months.

Eligible faculty will complete a structured application describing ways in which their research agenda will be transformed through this fellowship (for example, to learn a new method or to explore the potential for a long-term collaboration).

Each funded grant will have a maximum budget of $30,000 ($10,000 per month of stay) and may be used for partial investigator salary support, research costs and travel. Travel must be completed within one year after funding is awarded.

Eligibility
Who's Eligible: Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in any UCSF academic track (tenure, in-residence, clinical, adjunct or clinical X) are eligible.

Applicants must have a current active research program, with at least 50% time allocated to research.

Who's Not Eligible: Professional Research Series, Graduate Students, Residents, Fellows, Postdocs, Specialists

Review Criteria
The applications will be reviewed by a specialized review committee and evaluated based on significance of the research and its translational potential. A successful proposal must have clear goals, objectives and include a description of how the fellowship will transform the translational research agenda.

Proposal
Proposal to include:

  1. A proposed timeline that includes obtaining CHR or IACUC approval
  2. A proposed budget
  3. A letter from the Department Chair that, if an award is made, the awardee will be relieved of non-research obligations during the award period, and will not then be overloaded once the award period is over
  4. A letter from KHP indicating a willingness to host the fellowship, including approval to provide space during the fellowship
